I go to Chicago about 10 times a year and always try new places. I'm here now and we hit up the following this trip:

CH bar for cocktails. Really cool place. The make all the alcohol they sell in house. Take a tour. It's worth it.

Also the old Chicago Athletic Club has been recently revamped and is a fun spot. I was highly impressed.

Fig and Olive if your looking for Brunch. It was wonderful.

Catina Laredo for Mexican..the food reminded me a lot of Johnny Sanchez. If you go, get the Mexican Apple Pie. Thank me later.

We hit up Seven Lions for dinner one night and The Kitchen the next night. I would definitely recommend The Kitchen.

I'm a UNO pizza guy but hit up Gino's East this trip and it was ok .. I'm not a fan of Giordano's

Definitely hit up the Cubby Bear before the game for a cocktail. The food is not bad there either.

Headed to Chicago this weekend with the lady. Girl and the Goat was booked. Seems Frontera Grill, Longman and Eagle, and Purple Pig dont take reservations. Got reservations for either Naha or Spiaggia tomorrow night. Are are these two spots worthwhile or should i be looking elsewhere for reservations?

For lunch im thinking Portillos Italian Beef, Lou M's deep dish, and Publican deli.

Thanks for the suggestions

Actually Frontera Grill is not no reservations. They are booked and only taking walk ins. Avec is another place that doesn't take reservations

Just got back from five days in Chicago. Went to Purple Pig, Lou Malnatis, Trencherman, ReBar at Trump, Frontera Grill, Signature Room, The Aviary, The Gage, Boka, Girl and the Goat, Cindy's at Chicago Athletic Club, Pop's, North Pond, and Little Goat. Tried Au Cheval for lunch today for the burger, but got there at 11:10 and wait was already 45 minutes, so went to Little Goat instead.

Enjoyed all, not a bad meal at any of them, and would recommend any of them. Girl and the Goat was high point. Purple Pig, Boka and North Pond were excellent. Cocktails at The Avairy was an experience. If you go, stand at tables overlooking bar. It's like watching a science experiment. Rooftop at CAC was a lot of fun. The view and weather definitely contributed to our enjoyment. Highs in low 70's, no humidity. A nice break from Louisiana.

We are staying at the Tremont those same nights. Priced it off priceline for right around $100/night. 2 blocks from the red line. About a 15 minute ride to Wrigley. Look it up. Great location

Portillo's Italian beef is the best thing I've eaten in Chicago. Definitely recommend for lunch.
