What's your favorite cold cut? I can tell a lot about a chef on their response.

Chef Rob:
If you're really done with selling BBQ, would you consider writing a book? Not just a cookbook with recipes, but a real "how to" BBQ book. A - Z. Selecting equipment, fuels, meat cuts, prep, cooking time and temps, expert tips, etc.
As you've previously posted, you've already lost control of your recipes. Presumably, you've trained the CCBBQ asst pit masters on your personal techniques and secrets, so that's no longer completely secret.
I know plenty of people who would buy it (assuming you didn't try to sell it for some ridiculous price).

FYI - I'm not trying to pretend to be some kind of literary or publishing expert, but I think people would be interested in your expertise on the subject. I'd buy a copy.
My BIL wrote a children's book. He investigated a variety of publishing options. He ended up self-publishing and has done alright on the deal over the past couple of years, but had to put up several thousand dollars up front. Paid an illustrator, initial press run, storage, etc.
I know nothing about the particulars of publishing and marketing a book. It was just a thought. Maybe an app for $4.99 is a more practical, cost effective approach. Good luck!

Or hook the F&D board up and post it in the recipe collections thread

I'd be all for that! But I think Chef Rob expertise would appeal to a wider, and paying, market.

Another idea would be to host a small group of people for a couple of days and teach them how to do a brisket, butt, ribs, etc. like Myron Mixon does. I'm sure there are a lot of people that would pay for that kind of hands on experience.

Maybe they're going all electric and gas-assisted now.

It would take a good 3 months of smoking on that beast to learn how to feed it....maybe more. But once you learned the temp zones throughout you could really turn out some goodness.
