Does Sammy's on highland do them? I've had them in prairieville and they were great.

Parrain's are usually solid.

City Cafe and try the pepper jelly shrimp!

Mansur's are excellent. The only issue with them is how to stop ordering and eating them.

City Cafe's chargrilled are better than dragos IMO. Butter sauce wayy better. Pepper jelly shrimp kick arse too. Thursdays 35cent.

My only issue with city cafe is I've been there in the past and food we ordered was so so. You saying better then dragos though makes me think I should give it a second try

These were from a little ways north of BR, but were very good...

The food and menu is typical south Louisiana casual dining. Nothing mind blowing, I agree. But the oysters are solid. Sometimes they do a blackened fish special cooked with the oyster butter.

I've had them from both Parrain's and ACME.
I wasn't impressed with the oysters at Parrain's. Not dumping on the place, I really like it but they oysters weren't all that.
The ones from ACME were insanely good.
These are the only two places I've personally been to but I heard that Mansur's has good oysters too. No idea if they chargrill them though. I would assume they do.

Mansur's has a grill in the bar. You can watch them chargrill them. They're excellent.

I had Parrains and thought it was good. Not quite on the same level as Dragos.

I've had them at Don's by Cabelas. May be a little far for you to go lunch. They were good.

I don't know if they're the best, but City Cafe's are really good. I almost like the bread dipped into the butter sauce as much as I do the oysters.

city cafe's chargrilled oysters are the best in BR, IMHO .. but everything else on the menu is overpriced and incredibly average .. go tonight .. they are .89 each after 5PM ..

I can see myself eating some oysters there tonight. And yes, the rest of their menu is overpriced and not very good. I really wish they'd change up their menu some and hire a cook.

Best to try them when the oysters are in season, though they serve them all year round, I believe.
