Maybe speculation because they had to resort to offering Groupons?

Lots of talk. Have a big dinner there in a few days myself (convinced the business unit to throw money their way for my benefit, lol). I hope not though, best new restaurant in the city IMHO

I saw a few weeks ago they stopped doing weekday lunch and are only open for happy hour and dinner now. I hope they can hold on for while, once all the streetwork is finished that should help.

Luckily they have some money backing them, but maybe that is what has bought them some time. It is a shame you bring them up and #foodies haven't even been there.

The Joint is good, but these wings and sprouts are the GOAT

Re Primitivo, not really surprised they are struggling. I went once and food was just ok, was expensive, and wife did not want to go back. I drive by there several times a week during mealtimes and rarely see much going on. Same thing with Roux Carre, but that is subsidized and has a different goal.

Anybody checked it out yet?

I went yesterday and thought it was really good. I had the Brisket plate with 2 ribs as an extra. The meat was all really good along with the sides (beans and remoulade potato salad). Descent beer selection also.

They were out of burnt ends, but we didn't get there until like 1:45.

I went yesterday. I don't like the burnt ends only being available as a plate. That's way too much fat for me, so I won't be ordering those again. My husband and I split a plate with burnt ends, sliced brisket, and pulled pork. Spoonbread and beans were our sides. It was as good as I remembered.

Everyone working there was very friendly, although the security guy out front seemed a bit too serious. The space was really nice.

It's one of a string of new places that is hard to figure out what they were doing menuwise. I went once. I think everything I had was good. It was just hard to construct a meal for two out of their offerings, I thought.

that change bothers me too. His original menu had burnt ends available by pound, or as an adder to another plate. I wish he'd add a low-carb friendly side item like sprouts or green beans or allow us to just buy a portion of burnt ends.

Went today, was locking my bike up when the girl came to the front door and slammed it and locked it. It was about 12:15pm, she could have at least told me they weren't serving instead of going about it the way she did... it was quite awkward....

I ended up just riding up the block to Dryades market and getting shot plate and some of the best corn and crab bisque I've had in a while.

Oh well....

That hot bar is legit. The old man cooking knows his way around a kitchen.

Yeah that was a little weird for them to be closed on Wed... I thought so at least and didn't expect it.
