They are moving down the street into a smaller space next to Phil's Grill.

They have been on a slow and steady decline for a few years now. I just really think that was too big of a space and too high of a rent for what they were trying to do.
A few of their staff members had left a few months ago and opened Ridge Bistro down the street.

That place was severely over priced on everything. The guy that owns it was nice though.

Nice family that owns it. Hopefully the move will be good for them.

Yeah, I am friends with the family and apparently the rent, utilities, etc... was just too much. Not to mention the large amount of inventory needed to fill such a big place. They are moving the store across the way and will have a full bar for tastings. And they are partnering with Rare Cuts and St. James Cheese Company to offer nice cheeses and meats. Looking fowrard to see what the new place looks like.

They tried like crazy to find new ways to get $$ out of the "extra" space. I remember a few different makeovers of what the deli was supposed to be and they also built that big bar in the middle that ended up being a total flop.

They are good folks and I always enjoyed talking to Mr. Ken when I was in there. It was just becoming obvious that as they started scaling down in inventory over the last year or so that the end was coming in that location.

As for prices, yes they can't compete with grocery store prices on low end wines. Unfortunatly, that is what most people in this area want. They are supposedly going for more higher end wines, etc or different stuff that they don't have to compete with Winn-Dixie over.

that's a great idea. They always had things I wanted and were very accommodating.

I heard it was $8500 in that spot. Once the deli guy moved out The Cellars were on the hook for all of it & it proved to be too much.

Btw, I'm a big fan of Hickory Cafe in the same area. Only problem is if you aren't there by 11:30, you aren't getting a seat most days.

He's getting a great deal by moving into the space near Phil's Grill...they're also looking to do more of a wine bar atmosphere.

Down-time should be about a month, he told me a couple Fridays ago, just before they closed the old space.

At least I was able to get one last bowl of Chicken Tortilla before the hiatus...

Will be back for more as soon as the new location opens...

So they are moving into the spot where Red Mango used to be? That's tiny.

By the way, I was so sad that Red Mango closed so quickly. I loved that stuff. I know the little kids didn't because it's healthier and that's probably why it didn't last too long. :(

Different yogurt. I haven't been recently but I don't think they have that tart original flavor that Red Mango does.

I just went to the TF website and noticed that they have totally different nutrition info for California and Pennsylvania. I'm still trying to figure out why.

They have tart original flavor, at least the one by Izzo's does.

I didn't realize Red Mango had healthier yogurt though. I usually just get fruit and nuts on mine anyway.

the red mango guy was having a tough time at that location. He was opening another one on the northshore and the people that are building the 3 restaurants on Vets next to hooters came to him about putting one in there. He doesnt know if he will do it yet, but as of now he is focusing on his other location. The tuitti fruiti didnt help anything.
