Can you freeze oyster liquor?

Frying a few oysters later today. Can i freeze the oyster liquor for later use? Dont have time to make a gumbo today which is where it is going to end up.

Yes........unless the alcohol content is too high

Yes.

You can freeze oysters too. They not good to eat raw after but they okay for a gumbo, soup or to make a dressing.

How later you talking about? Less than a week or so just keep it in the fridge.

I had a container of oysters which got pushed to an apparently too cold area of the fridge and everything froze. I defrosted them and fried them as planned. They were surprisingly fine for that.

It'll be fine. I line the top of the container with plastic wrap forcing all the bubbles out so that no air gets to the liquid to avoid freezer burn. It's sort of like a vac seal.

I'm a big fan of the Gerald Horst "Louisiana seafood bible" series. He recommends freezing individual oysters in ice cube trays with a little liquor. Works very well. Freezing them individually and quickly cuts down on ice crystal formation.
