Can you buy bacon grease/fat at the Grocery?

You can cook up a bunch of bacon and let it cool then chop it up for use as bacon bits and save the grease. I would think you can buy it at the store too but Im not 100 percent. Hope that helps.

fwiw if you can buy it someone tell me the company so i can go work at it.... i would love to be the garbage man there.

I don't recall seeing bacon grease sold in a store. You can buy lard, though.

Yeah, thanks, I know I can collect it by cooking bacon, but I was looking for a short cut.

Go to a restaurant, and hook up with the KM or chef and ask them to save some for a few days for you. I don't think you will find it as a store item. Now lard on the other hand will be near/on the baking aisle.

During the span of your two posts (5:32-6:06), you could have rendered some bacon.

Never have seen it in a store.

I rendered it last night for a dish, but was just looking for a short cook....I mean shite you don't even have to make your own roux anymore.
