I couldn't find the actual ones I have online, but these are similar: ice sphere mold on amazon

The ones I have have a max fill line to get a more consistent perfect sphere, can't find one on amazon with the max fill line.

I want to try this.

That's a lot of work for the exact same result as putting an ice cube in the cup.

It is, but honestly if a restaurant was doing this at their bar. They could charge more just for the experience.

I have read about issues with the molds...not sure how legit the online complaints are...

I got a 4 ball maker from amazon several months ago and so far its been fine. No issues but honestly how much can go wrong with a rubber mold to freeze water.

Chicken, get the wintersmith ice chest. Pricey but makes clear balls that never crack. And does 4 at a time.

The Wintersmith is sold out on the website.

I wonder when they will get more in?

Same ones I have. My brother in law got them for me for Christmas. They work a lot better than the Makers Mark tray. I always had trouble getting it just the right amount full of water. Leaving a little gap at the top, or overflowing and making it hard to remove. It seemed like the plastic would just freeze together and you had to run water on it for a solid minute on each side to loosen it up. With these, the lid pops off, bringing the ball with it, and then you just push it in to pop out the ice. I have a deep freeze in the basement and just made up a bunch of them. Empty into a freezer bag. There's probably a half dozen down there now. Planning on making a ton of them before we head to the beach this year and filling my cooler with them.

I use silicone molds, in an hour you have an ice ball.

These are the ones that I have been using. Only problem I have had is that I have cracked a few trying to get the sphere out of the plastic, but they are cheap and I just go get another.

The sphere isn't always pretty and not clear, but I gets the job done.
