If we could get a "wine for non-Oenophiles" thread going, I'd be in.
This one has too many words for someone who wants to stick with bottles around $20 and under.
Keeping something going that is this "complex" will be tough I think.

Picked up a bottle of Butter Chardonnay from Jam Cellars and the 2015 george duboef beaujolais noveau. The beaujolais is what it is, but I hear good things about this Chardonnay. Both bottles are inexpensive as well fwiw. Glad we have a wine thread going

There are many great finds for <$20. Depending on what you are looking for you may need to keep an open mind for alternatives but value is out there.
So it seems it is getting harder and harder to find a quality Napa Cab for <$30-35 but a great alternative is to look north to Washington and you wont be disappointed.

I had a glass of an old vine red zin the other day from Michael David winery called Earthquake.
Really good. Bought a bottle for this weekend.
$28, which is more than I like to spend, but oh well.

Drank a wine tonight that I thought was an incredible value- 2010 Chateau Goudichaud, a Bordeaux from one of the lesser appellations, Graves de Vayres.
I think I payed about $13 for the bottle, and it was really very complex and satisfying for that price. It's not Chateau Angelus, but nevertheless I was very impressed.
I'd encourage anybody who's looking for a daily drinker that can fight above its weight class to check it out. They have it at Matherne's on Highland fwiw. Highly recommended.

Thanks for starting this thread!! My wife and I are wine geek ourselves! We've been drinking wine for about 10 years but just recently started collecting. We took our first trip to Napa last summer and liked it so much that we went back for harvest! We stayed in Calistoga because it was kinda tucked away from the hustle in the valley. Visited mostly small, boutique wineries and joined a few clubs!

Tamber Bey
Cimarossa
We do enjoy old world wines too!! Especially ones from Italy and Spain!

We also visited Round Pond! Loved there wines!! Their Sav Blanc was really good! The tastin room is an open air, 2nd story balcony overlooking their vineyards. Also, they own the only olive press in Napa....hence, they make amazing olive oil too!
