Looking to purchase burner and pot for my son. What kind of burner, pot? Best place to get good deal in BR area. Thanks.

Be sure to get a high-pressure valve otherwise it will take a few hours to heat up a medium-size pot of water

Duel jet burner, 100 qt, stay away from the cajun rocket pot hype
I personally recommend bayou classic for both the burner and the pot

i have this exact setup... I dont understand how anyone can suggest to stay away from this.
You literally can have a full pot of water to the top boiling in 10-12 minutes
Since you only put about half water in the pot, its boiling in 7 minutes.

Same here....Rocket Pot is worth the hype....3/4 full of water and boiling in 8 mins!! And adding the crawfish doesn't kill the boil!! It's legit

You are sooo wrong, you must not have ever owned one. CRP is awesome.

I can wait an extra 7 minutes to get my water rolling and save 150 bucks

Do you have to have both the Cajun Rocket Pot burner and pot? Can I just use any normal 100 qt pot and just the Rocket Pot burner?
Thanks
Thanks

SAMs club had a good combo last year. 80qt pot and double rocket burner. Used it several times and loved it. Can't wait to break it out again this year.

After I lost all my pots and burners in Katrina I purchased in 2006, an 80 qt and 120 qt, and 2 jet burners. In 2007, I added a 100 qt pot and a third jet burner. Everything is King Kooker. I use them all at least 6 times a year. The pots are still in amazing condition. Two years ago the gas line on one of the burners split, so I had to replace it. That's the only repair I have had to make. All three burners still crank out awesome.
Plus, the company that makes them has awesome customer service, and they are in Harahan. About 4 years ago, I lost the lid to my 120 qt pot when I moved from Katy back to NOLA. I called them and asked if I could buy just a lid, and the guy told me just come by and he would take care of me. I went by the place and sure enough, he gave me a replacement at no charge.
If I had to buy a new pot, I would probably get a rocket pot, but I can't justify spending that kind of money to replace a perfectly good pot.

I usually time my crawfish by how long it takes to come back to a boil
I feel like that would throw my shite off.
What do you do?

you beat me to it. i have no incentive to come up with new times for my boiling process. especially not to save 7 whole minutes.
plus the few extra minutes allow for more alcoholic consumption
