I have a primo oval xl that I love, but I want to add a gas grill to the stable for versatility. I am getting ready to rebuild my entire outdoor area so I am going to start looking today. Right now, the brands I am looking at are Lynx, Fire Magic, and DCS. Anyone have any experience with these brand or something similar/better? I'm thinking I am going to stay with a 36" model so I have room for other accessories such as a power burner or sear station.

My dad had a DCS and had issues with some parts rusting and not being able to get replacement parts...that was a while back, so maybe things have changed. I haven't cooked on any of them, but we sell Bull and Lynx (I think)...for the money, bull seem good. My old man is a huge proponent of wood pellet grills...not sure what you'll be using the gas grill for since you have a Primo, but if you're in the DCS, lynx, Bull price range, you should give the wood pellet grills a look IMO.

Neighbors just finished their outdoor kitchen. They used Bull, seem to be very happy with their choice.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out Bull. They sell that at Goodwood so I can go check it out there. I also want to go look at Twin Eagles, Capital, and Alfresco. Honestly, the Bull grills might be a great choice if the quality is there as they are thousands cheaper than the other brands mentioned.

I was in the same boat as you...but I decided to pick up a second primo for versatility. I cooked on gas my whole life...the food I get off the primo taste so much better I would never want to use one if I had it....so the 2nd primo allows me to have one tied up in a low and slow and cook something else....or do two different styles/temps...or if I want to reverse sear and slow smoke a full primos worth of stuff on one then sear on the 2nd. And so on....

I have the lynx, it was already at the house we bought. An electrical component went bad after a couple of years and It was out of warranty but Customer Service sent me a replacement and it has been great ever since.

Very good service and heavy duty.
