Give me a toasted onion roll, 80/20 deer burger, mayo both sides of the bun, Zatarains creole or Guldens spicy brown mustard on the bottom, with a thin slice of Vidalia onion and bread and butter pickle slices. Burger with melted smoked gouda or provalone, couple slices of bacon, slice of a good tomato. This is the perfect burger to me. What say you? What is your favorite combination? A good burger is like a blank canvas.

Brioche or potato bun. Ground brisket or 73/27 ground beef if I can find it. Patty seasoned with only coarse salt and black pepper right before it hits the heat. Flat top or cast iron only (no grill). Sharp cheddar melted on the beef. Removed when med-rare. No condiments needed, but for this style of burger, I can do a light mayo swipe or something like that. Thick homemade pickles. Raw slice of onion.

Juice will run to your elbows while you eat if you get that meat right.

I don't think the condiments make the burger, its the bun and the patty. The condiments are just guests to the party.

-the Patty is far and away better when cooked on a griddle, not a BBQ pit.
-quality bun. Those cheap buns on the bread Isle don't cut it. I like slightly toasted as well.

I'm not a huge fan of Bacon on a burger. It kind of over powers the flavor of the beef, which is the flavor I like the most.

The rest of it you had was good. Tomato, lettuce, pickle, onion, mayo, mustard, and a good cheese.

Note: There are 3 things that I NEVER would put on a hamburger. American Cheese, Ketchup, barbecue sauce

I say I would throw that burger away. I hate onions, onion rolls, mustard, and bread and butter pickles. Leave those off, add sauerkraut, and put it on a lightly toasted bakery bun and IWEI.

I like a lot of different combos and permutations of burgers

As far as toppings I like gruyere with some caramelized onions and some mayo

Hatch chili burger topping is also good

Nice and simple. Some A-1 in the patties to bind. Salt and pepper and cook it right. Hot red and juicy in the middle.

Tonight I had a burger wrap with arugula, avocado, and caramelized onions. It was pretty tasty.

There is not just one single perfect burger combo, as far as I'm concerned. Can't narrow it down.

I really don't like a) tons of stuff on a burger or b) absurd variations on a burger.

Good bun with good patty (not idiotically fat, but good quality), crisp lettuce, one slice of fresh tomato, two small slices of good quality pickle, one thin slice of onion, mustard, barely a dab of mayo (optional) and I'm done.

I like a good quality Angus beef for the patty. I like my patties to be fairly thick and with a higher fat ratio. Season with basic cracked pepper and sea salt. I like mine cooked right at medium.

Right before taking the burger off, I top it with a slice or two of pepper jack cheese. This way, by the time the burger is assembled, the cheese will be at a perfect consistency.

I then top the patty with lettuce, tomato, caramelized onions (I like the sweetness the caramelized onions give me combined with the pepper jack cheese and chipotle mayo). I then take a few swipes of chipotle mayo and slather it across a perfectly warmed, not quite toasted Martin's potato bread bun.

That's my perfect burger.
