In a thread from last August you mentioned quartzite for your counter tops. Is that what you went with? I am very interested in using this in our kitchen remodel.

Any pics? Or is there a thread that I missed where you posted the finished kitchen?

It's finished Darla. Thanks for asking. I'll gather a few pics. We went with Carrera marble. So far, I like it. Yes it gets scratches, but it looks better the more it gets. Standby.

Standing by!

Also, are you happy with your other design decisions?

The biggest regret I have is the amount of space around the refrigerator. It's that large to accommodate the door swings. I wish I had set back the wall a foot or so.

6x6 island with 2x6 of it raised. We will use it as bar seating. The cabinet on the corner is the waste basket. It has a door on either side.

Reclaimed, antique "dirty top" pine flooring. No stain. Just 4 coats of poly. The window above the sink is a casement window. You can crank it out 90 degrees if you smoke the kitchen up.

The ceiling is 10 ft. We used glass doors for the upper cabinets to put the things we use less often. Less dusting.

We used drawers everywhere. The small pantry has slide outs.

There is an unseen butler's pantry that has a second (old) refrigerator and all of the small appliances. It also has shelving that serves as the "Sam's" pantry.

Gorgeous, brother. I love the cabinetry.

But is that a french door refrigerator?

Yep. I still haven't made it work yet. I'm not in love with it to say the least.

Wow. Taking it all in. I love those pantry pull out shelves.

Happy with the gas cook top and drawers below? I'm undecided about a full range with an additional wall oven, or double wall ovens like you have.

Love your range hood, too. Do you?

These pics are poor. I'll dig around for some others. Thanks for all of the kind comments.

Yeah I just don't understand how they think that's an optimum use of space. When I visit my folks it drives me up a wall how their fridge is laid out. When I go to try and find a place to put my cans and bombers of beer I frickin lose it.

Agreed, his just really work with the whole setup.

And I dig the pendant lights and the bar. Are there stools to go there?

There will be. That is the plan. We have only been in a couple weeks. Still have a few things to buy. I'm just broke right now.
