Leaving for NYC next week and am looking for some breakfast spots.
Any suggestions? Also, if you can recommend a steakhouse besides Peter Luger's that would be great. Thanks

Balthazar for breakfast, or Blue Ribbon Bakery/Cafe for brunch.

For a hole in the wall type place, Johnny's Luncheonette on 25th between 6th and 7th. Really small. About 8 bar stools and then one table of 2.

Yes, this is more of my speed. My wife isn't an adventurous eater and I'm a moderate eater. Hole in the walls or average joints for breakfast is what I'm looking for

Breakfast is breakfast. Eat at the hotel buffet. But if you really want to move uptown then try it at the Waldorf-Astoria. It was $100.00 per person when I was there a couple of years ago.
As for looking for a great steak house don't sweat it. Any will do. All the bad restaurants in NYC have gone out of business.

Sarabeth's on Central Park South was nice.
You could always hit up the Carnegie Deli.

Took your advice and looked at nymag.com and found Ben and Jack's. Made reservations. I will also be visiting Johnny's Lunchenette as well. Thanks

saw Sienna Miller there once
didn't really care for their breakfast menu, but the lunch and dinner dishes are damn solid.

Is Strip House legit? There's one in the building I'm working in. Never gave it any mind.
