Bourbon Trail and Lexington Dining advice

Has anyone done the Bourbon Trail up in Kentucky? I'm planning a bachelor party for about 8 guys up there at the beginning of March and I'm trying to get a feel for what distilleries are a must see. I have a connection with the Willet Distillery and I was thinking Buffalo Trace and/or Maker's Mark.
Also, can anyone recommend a nice restaurant in Lexington? I've never been to this state so I'm at a loss.

I did them all on a running relay. Maker's and Woodford were my favorites just because of the scenery. Maker's is out there, and Woodford is just beautiful and nestled around some of the biggest thoroughbred farms.

I have done the Kentucky Bourbon Chase two times. I am familiar with the trail, but not with places to eat in Lexington.
I would recommend the following. Start at Jim Beam due to the fact that they have a good tour that goes over the history. They talk about the Bourbon and the fact that some of the other makers of Bourbon were Beam decendents.
We went through Four Roses at night, so I can say anything good or bad against it.
I would skip Heavin Hill, and hit Makers Mark.
I liked Woodford Reserve as well.
Hope this helps.

Woodford is a very cool tour
Turkey is brand new
4 roses is the most lax on the tastings

I went about 2.5 yrs ago for a bachelor party. Here are my tips for you:
1. Don't go on the bourbon trail expecting to get a buzz, because they don't give you more than a thimble full of booze at each tour.
2. Do the urban bourbon trail in Louisville if you are thinking about staying there for a night or two. I'd definitely recommend it. I don't know anything about Lexington, unfortunately.
3. Definitely hit up Buffalo trace. I may have enjoyed their tour the most. The smell inside the warehouses where they age the bourbon barrels is seared into my memory, so awesome. It was also the first one we went on, so I may be biased in that regard.

Yeah but you can bring an ice chest of beer (or bourbon!) on the bus.
OP: I suggest you call Mint Julep Tours and get a private van for your group. We did it with 11 and it was awesome. I highly recommend staying in downtown Louisville rather than Lexington. And I insist you do Buffalo Trace. Four Roses is my favorite distillery, as far as the bourbons they put out, but the tour was superior at BT.
