Posted by suga pudin on 6/11/13 at 1:33 pm00
Headed to Dallas in a couple weeks and lookin to pick up some good beer, specifically Firestone Walker. Any suggestions on where to go? TIA

I only know the north country, Zap or Rouge can probably clue you in on Dallas proper. Up north, I usually hit Mr. Gs or Keg & Barrels and maybe Whole Foods (that location seems to slow play JK special releases and I've gotten stuff there weeks after everyone else sales out)

Whole Foods Lakewood
Central Market (Greenville & Lovers)
Specs(off 75 at...Walnut Hill I think)
Total Wine & More (near Specs off 75)
Another good place is Davis Street Liquor in Oak Cliff on Davis Street. Small shop but good selection. More pricey though. Again, gotta ask them whats in the back.
At Wholefood, ask for Wes. If he's not there, go to the bar, yes there is a bar in WF, and ask the bartender what good beers they have in the back. They always keep the good stuff in the back. Specs is like that too.
At Central Market....there is a big guy with curly longish hair and glasses that is good to talk to....can't remember his name.....

Some places here in Denver pull that shite. I absolutely hate it. Either put it on the shelf or hoard it, don't make me go through the charade.

What places are there on the west side of town? I'll be in downtown in a few of weeks for work but will be heading west every afternoon to hit the trails.

Place is unreal. They have 2 aisles of just craft beer and at great prices. Got a 12 pack of shiner there two weeks ago for $10.99.
