That's all really a shame Niki. I didn't quote it in case you decide later to delete any of it in which case, I'll edit.

Oh I know Glass. I wasn't saying that you shouldn't have your opinion based on your experience.

When it comes to knowing someone casually, some are awesome to hang out with and radiate their passions, etc. That level of knowing someone doesn't tell of who they really are as a person.

Finns sent out an email last night. Stated that they will be renovating the kitchen in August. They are exploring options for food.

I trust Pauline and Stephen completely that whatever goes in will be a quality product. And I'm with you, I sure hope something goes in before the start of the season.

I have gone to BooKoo twice since this thread. Want to go again tomorrow.

I finally tried the PBnJ burger (didn't love it)
but the BooKoo burger was as good as always. Lee was there and had me the burgers before I had even got my highball from the bartender.

And now that they are going smoke free I actually would have ate there more, because the new crowds and smoke are what turned me away.

The smoke free thing is only this week.
From their FB page:

We have always been FIRM BELIEVERS that our customers are the most important thing.
We would rather take their opinions on board when making decisions about how to run Finn McCools than to allow a state law make that decision for us.
We have increased our special smoke free days and nights throughout the year as our customers deemed necessary and when it comes time to go smoke free it will be on OUR CUSTOMERS TERMS not because of some law tells us to do it.
The Finns experience isn't about coming here and getting drunk and disappearing into a cloud of smoke. ( not that there is anything wrong with that )
It's about gathering with friends, over a pints , telling jokes, telling old stories, ribbing each other and other general mischief.
You know! ....It's really all about the craic.
So in saying all that .... Finns will be participating this week( til Friday ) in the healthier air for all campaign.
Please enjoy the lovely outdoor area.
AND DO NOT LITTER PLEASE :)

But judging from comments and reception, and how they are trying the smoking areas, I would think they may switch full time.

I used to go there a heck of a lot, but after Gambit and others started calling it "the best neighborhood bar" it started getting packed. I'm not a fan of eating in a cloud of smoke.
So I hope they go full time non-smoking.

I know Pauline feels that inevitable they will be legislated to go non-smoking and is trying to adapt for that.

On topic though

Lee is moving to Shreveport, and isn't renewing his lease. We are doing some minor changes to the kitchen during the month of August and opening Sept with a new concept.

Mrs. Sheep and I didn't go to Finn's during the WC because it wasn't smoke free.

We still go almost every Saints away game. Because I want another golden spoon. But it's just so smokey.

I take people there because I like the place and anyone who doesn't smoke, that is their complaint.
For just drinking, I'm fine with the smoke, but it's when eating. So I usually eat outside on the picnic tables.

It's one of my favorite bars, and that's my #1 complaint

I hear ya Napolean. I'm there at least once a week and I'm a smoker. But whenever possible, I sit outside because ironically, it bothers me as well. And you are right, a different crowd started going in over the last few years - but I have to say I feel like it's getting back to normal a bit now.

I'm sure whatever they are going to open in September will be awesome.

I got a brisket burger today. I wanted a BooKoo burger, but he was out of Boudin.

It was good. Last burger there, I'm thinking should I have got the Nachos one last time?

I went to get the PBJ burger I never tried but it wasn't there.

Went for the pulled pork burger which I've always loved. It was great. Will miss that place. Hopefully whatever moves there is just as good and opens soon for soccer season.

I got it last week, it was a good burger, but he had another one with an egg and praline bacon that I preferred.

I'm going to miss the Bahn Mi and the Cajun Cuban too. Both good cheap sandwiches.
Though I didn't catch the price jump. A burger and fries today was $15.43 That is more than Hi Hat and on par with cowbell. But it's a damn fine burger.
