I'll be attending the festival tomorrow night with some friends. The lineup appears to be heavy on Texas Brewers (which I'm totally ok with). Has anyone ever been? Anyone know of special brews to be on the lookout for?

Lineup looks pretty meh. Although I'd like to try some Alesmith.

Thanks for linking the lineup. I meant to but I'm at work and got distracted while I was posting.

What kind of beers do you like? I'd check out a few of those lakewood stouts. Jester King, while it doesn't appear they have any heavy hitters, is always good for some Saison and sours. Same for the goose island ladies. Get some KBS and BCBS variants before they run out if you're cool with starting with a big stouts. Probably knock out all the Saint Arnold bishop's barrels.

IPA's, Stouts, and Porters typically - but I'm willing to try anything.

Not usually a fan of saison's and sours but I definitely want to try Jester King and the Avery Apricot Sour.

I've had KBS before and it's great. Will definitely hit up the Saint Arnold's Bishop's Barrels.

Yea that looks lame as hell for $40. The one at house of blues last year was pretty cool though. They had awesome food and some pretty good bands.

I guess rather than being my usual dickish self, I could have said to try the Legal Draft SmAsH and Grab IPA. The Tupps IPA is pretty good too.

Thanks. I realize it's not the most exciting beer list but it's more of an opportunity to hang with some friends than to grab a rare find.

Haven't had either of those so I'll check them out.

This, all the way.

Founder's and Goose Island. It doesn't look like Founder's will have any KBS variants, but Goose Island bringing it strong.

Also suggest:

Oskar Blues Barrel Aged Ten Fidy
Alesmith Speedway Stout
Alesmith Nibs and Beans Speedway Stout (not highly rated by style, but I'd try it)
Deschutes Abyss
Firestone Walker Parabola

I would definitely prioritize in the following order: Goose Island, Founder's, Firestone, Oskar Blues, Alesmith

ETA: I'm big into big, bold, barrel aged stouts, thus my list. Got a speedway stout, some curmudgeon, Dragon's Milk, and a Dark Lord chillin in the fridge for the Final Four tomorrow.

I usually drink those like I would a light beer and get wasted without realizing what I did lol. They are so strong and so good.

This sounds like a plan. I'll probably mix in a few sours and local Breweries I haven't tried yet and enjoy my night

Goose Bourbon County Rye and Bourbon County Vanilla should be your top 2 targets.

Getting to be beer and festival season. Love it. I'm heading to Dark Lord Day with some folks in May. Good times.
