I've pretty much just been eating nuts and dry rice crispies all day. What should I get for lunch that likely won't upset my stomach? I have access to most fast food chains (McDonald's, Taco Bell, KFC, Popeye's, Church's, Arby's, ect) and several plate lunch type places.

Thanks...dick

I woke up at 3:00am shitting out my insides and still managed to close my gaping vagina to come into work for a 12 hour shift. I now require some sustenance. Just trying to think of something basic that won't rock the boat.

Takeout soup. Egg drop, wonton, shiro miso or udon noodle soup from a sushi joint....
+1 on the pho.

Nothing. Just water. When I get sick it's a great opportunity to lose a few pounds. Don't eat.

Ditto here too. Just let it all pass. Drink some bitters.

all BS aside

take a probiotic, you can get some good ones at a GNC. it will help accelerate the good bacteria in your gut

i usually eat a broth based soup with crackers, dry toast turkey sandwich or some eggs throughout the day.

try to avoid acidic foods like fruit, coffee, tomatoes, etc.

avoid dairy and anything high fiber as well until it clears up

since you mentioned fast food, i would go to a subway type place and get a generic turkey or ham sandwich with veggies and some chicken soup from there. pretty bland but oh well

A family member often requests KFC mashed potatoes in such situations. It's the only time I set foot in there.

Those places usually promote upset stomachs.

Depends on why it's upset? If it's a hangover, sometimes a greasy nasty McD's cheeseburger hits the spot.

Speaking my language. I have stomach issues like you describe, and it was bad enough to the point where it was affecting me almost daily. I would skip lunch at work because it wasn't particular types of foods that made me sick.. it was any movement whatsoever in my digestive tract, which food initiates.

If this happens to you often, get a probiotic and take it every day. I get mine at CVS, but Walmart has them too. It is life changing. If you take it daily, you'll notice an amazing difference.

Drink lots of water and take Immodium. Immodium is one of the best non-prescription medicines you can take. Hell, it is the only OTC drug that helps when you're hungover (notice, pain meds never make hangover headaches go away). Immodium can be taken as a preventative for days like today. If you take some, you should be okay to eat most anything.. though I wouldn't over-eat and I'd still avoid complete junk.

Also, candied ginger (aka crystallized ginger) definitely curbs nausea. World Market, Whole Foods, Trader Joe's etc....it tastes sort of like a ginger gummy candy with crystal sugar on the outside. Works for motion sickness, too.

If it's from a hangover. A big cheese pizza with jalapenos.

If not, I got nothing.
