What do you guys recommend?
I've been to Del Frisco's in Dallas and Charlotte.
I know they have a good steak. I was thinking about trying a different place.
Any other recommendations?

Killens is my choice, but I haven't had all the comparisons.

Pappa Brothers, Killen's, Vic and Anthony's

Trip Advisor is showing Taste of Texas as the #3 rated place, and it's 3 miles from my hotel.
Anyone been there?

Papa Brothers showed up as one of the best too.
Hard to decide when you're in TX

I'd say Pappa's Bros or Killens and to me it's really not even close, Pappa's Bros hands down.
ETA: If you are looking for a great steak but are open to heaven on a plate in the form of a giant pork chop I would say go to one of the Perry's. I'd take that Pork Chop over any steak I have ever eaten in my entire life.

Drive farther. Not saying it's bad, but you have better options.

This is not hyperbole. Perry's pork chop is incredible.

Best steak I have ever eaten was at Del Frisco's in Houston by the Galleria.
Vic and Anthony's is very good as well, along with Pappas.
Brennar's on the Bayou was the best overall experience for us, because of the setting and quality of steaks.

VIC AND ANTHONYS...killens.

My order would go something like this.
1A/1B -- Pappas/ Killens
2.Vic and Anthony's
3. Perry's but only because of that Pork Chop
4. Brenner's but only because of the atmosphere. their food just isn't as good as the price point.
Honorable Mention goes to Flemings for their Happy Hour.

All mentioned are good bites...I'll give a nod to B&B Butcher off if Washington. Great cuts of meat and thick slab bacon that's to die for. Don't pass on the Carpetbaggers for an app, thick slab bacon with filet, fried oyster, and blue cheese on a skewer

Haven't been there yet because the comments I've heard were split down the middle either raving about it or saying it was vastly overrated. Guess I need to go find out for myself...

I like Pappas Bros. Steakhouse on Westheimer...

Pappas bone in filet with bone marrow. Untouchable.

You need to factor in service and all sorts of other shite people will put into their opinion of what is a good steak.
You have a slew of options....

Ate at B&B a few weeks ago for the first time for my bday. The food was really good but not by any means my favorite, the service was slow and mediocre, the price was extremely high. Not to mention the restaurant was loud as frick. My GF told them it was my bday on reservations and they brought out a piece of cheesecake at the end of the meal. Guess what, it was also on the bill for $9. Ended being $350 for two people. Won't be back.
Back to the question at hand. As someone else mentioned, Del Frisco's is my favorite ribeye, pappa's is my favorite steakhouse, and perry's is the best pork chop. If you are out by city center mccormick and schmick, Flemings, and capital grille are all good.
