I've got people visiting me this week and want to take them out for lunch/dinner in Savannah. What are some good places? It doesn't have to be seafood...

The Grey is getting a lot of national press. Most lists have it as one of the best new restaurants in the country.

But Savannah is a coastal city...therefore its specialty IS seafood.

Skip Lady & Son's (Paula Dean)... it's like an upscale Golden Corral...

The Pink House (steak/seafood), Belford's (steak), Chart House (seafood), Kevin Barry's (irish), Vinne-Van-Go-Go's (late night pizza), Six Pence (amazing English pub/rest), Jazz'd (jazz/tapas)

Stay off of River Street... it's the equivelant of Bourbon... all tourists, etc...

Spend time in/around City Market a few blocks up from River & Bay.

The only thing fun on/around River St is "Savannah Smiles Piano Bar"

I recommend the Grey, Slys Sliders and Fries, Green truck pub, Crystal beer parlor, and the original pub. Avoid the tourist restaurants

Alure and The Grey. For Thai, how about Ruan Thai?

The Pink House won't disappoint.
