I know it's a tourist trap, but there have to be some nice, locals only places, right? My vote is Clover Grill.

Can probably pick about 50 places in the French Quarter, CBD, and Marigny areas.

Depends on what you mean.

I'm not sure about best, but I'll do Felix's for the pop-in, Antoine's, Galatoire's, Arnaud's for the classy stuff, K-Paul is not far off and in between. As far a screaming local, it's farther off, but Coop's is a must try dive of a place with Rabbit in their Super Jambalaya or whatever they call it. Leg-it.

Pelican Club, Irene's, Muriels all are great and within a few blocks of Bourbon.

The Bon Ton Cafe on 401 Magazine. Walking distance from Bourbon.

PYA! You'd go eat a hubcap burger instead of Port of Call?

Completely overrated crap everytime I've been there. I'd eat at fricking Ali Baba's any time before Clover Grill

I ate at Clover really late the 2 times I went, and now that I know about La Peniche, it pisses me off that I ever went there!

ETA: how is La Peniche not on the Dinning Guide?

If you can get past the hippies, turtle bay cafe is good place to get pastime-like pizza.
