Austin is the Mecca of Texas BBQ, man, with places like Franklin BBQ, Stubbs, The Salt Lick, why bother with anything else. Next thing, you'll be asking for DJ'd music!! When in Rome...

Poo, as compared to? It's Texas BBQ, beef, smoked, and a lot of it...

Stubbs and Salt Lick don't belong in the same breath as Franklin

Seriously, on Congress, Brazos St, close to the Capitol, several different restaurants. Y'all won't have trouble finding grub...

Kinda different places, bud. No doubt, Franklin has the best brisket, Stubbs has best atmosphere, especially when a blues band is taking stage, Salt Lick is a PAIN to get to, but if ever you have the giant beef ribs there, you'll see why I mentioned it...

It depends what you're looking for but Launderette blew me away when I ate there in Nov. Odd Duck is great as well. Uchi and Uchiko are always staples.

Matt's El Rancho is a classic.

We had a really good dinner at Ranch 616.
