I moved to Dallas several years ago. I ask people I know here where can I get some good crawfish. They recommend The Boiling Crab, Tasty Tails, Cajun Corner etc. I've tried all of these places and they're selling Vietnamese style crawfish. I didn't know this was a thing, but apparently Vietnamese style is like 1lb of crawfish boiled separately in a plastic bag and then served with oily sauces and dips with names like Shebang etc.
And if it's not the Vietnamese garbage it's flavorless crawfish with Tony's sprinkled on the shell.

Is there anywhere in or around Dallas that has crawfish like I'm used to from New Orleans? Spicy as shite with sausage, potatoes, corn, garlic etc?

Can't you Texans come up with your own culture instead of stealing ours?

I'm going to Tasty Tails tonight. I had it when they operated out of an Asian food court in Plano. I thought it was fine for Dallas.

You do realize they're selling frozen, Chinese crawfish right? They sell crawfish year round.

I'm not a Texan. I was born and raised in New Orleans.

That's what I was afraid of.

Too bad no one has decided to import real La crawfish and boil them here. I think they're are enough transplants to make it profitable during crawfish season.

Sounds like you need to boil your own, mate.

Never went when I lived in DFW, but Bayou Market in Lewisville is supposed to be good.

Wherever you can find a place that puts a ton of slap ya mamma when they're in the ice chest.

I moved to the area a year ago and am on the same quest. I think I'll just have to boil my own.

I did a google search last year and Bayou Market came up. It looks like it may be the real deal but never made it out there.

Nate's in Addison and all the Razzoo's have them. Probably Pappadeaux too.

Only when in season so I assume they're the real deal.

When I lived in Plano, I used to buy from Captain Daves...looks like he is still open. Give him a call.

EDITED TO ADD: I think they only sell live crawfish.

Dodies and Nates are the only ones worth a shite and neither of those are very good (seasoning on the outside crap).

Was gonna try Nate's, but I guess I'll pass. I'll be in New Orleans in a few weeks. Guess I'll just wait. I'd boil my own, but I don't have a rig anymore and the 40lb sack would be way too much crawfish for me, my gf, and the few friends I have here who would eat crawfish.
