Always been a fan of best stop but Billy's in opelousas and scott is hands down my favorite. The Pepper jack cheese stuffed boudin balls are orgasmic!

Call best stop. Order 40 lbs they will ship it to you frozen.
ETA- Billy's boudin balls are better, Best Stop boudin is better

I really like the boudin ball at Billys but I tried the smoked boudin for the first time there on my last trip. Didn't care for it at all. It was more like a smoked sausage too compact. Much prefer best stop smoked boudin. Regular boudin at both places is very good. Most reliable hot cracklin is still Dons though.

Smoke on a rice product doesn't taste good to me. Now, a link of boudin popped on a grill for a quick crisping is a damn good thing...particularly if the boudin isn't the best.

Got that right! Just enough to crisp up the casing.

Of you're headed to Texas get Billy's in Scott. It's right off the interstate and is the best I've had followed by Billeauds and Nunu's.

Bump
Just had some boudin from Nunu's in Youngsville. Very solid. Excellent meat/rice ratio, good spice and great flavor. Too bad it's in BFE.

Yup. Grill turns me from a non-eater of casing to an eater.

for solid excellent tasting food, I'll drive anywhere

nothing like a road trip with awesome tunes to get some killer food , especially if you can't find it near your location

might I suggest LeJuene's Sausage Kitchen in Eunice for smoked ponce Or Tboys & Teets in Mamou/Ville Platte for excellent groceries ... smoked meats, tasso, boudin, etc....
