going up to VA to visit some friends and we usually hang out and drink Bud heavy and smoke a shite ton of meat and have a good time. I wanna take some really good boudin with me to throw in the smoker, but I also don't want to drive to Scott.

I was thinking of just going to Cochon Butcher. I haven't had the boudin from Chris' in Lakeview but some of the other stuff i've had from there is good. any other ideas?

You're lucky if you can find boudin in New Orleans, period, let alone good boudin. Do your folks a favor and drive to Scott before you fly out there. If you're driving, go to Hammond first and hit up Ronnie's along the way.

I think if trying to get it in N.O. Chris's Specialty Meats is a good choice.

Had Butcher's several years ago. Didn't care for it at all. Surprised me because I love the place.

There was a thread several years ago in which several people said Rouse's was good, not great, but good. I've never had it though.

Are you driving? If so, could your route take you through Port Allen/Lobdell? Bergeron's is good. Otherwise, you could order from one of the many good places which ship and have it shipped to your destination.

I got a box of it for a bachelor party fishing trip I went on. Everyone loved it and I thought it was pretty damn good. Its the only kind I buy from a grocery store now.

Look up Boudin by Jamison on Facebook. It's a little pop up operation, by far the best in Nola

Chris's sells Ronnies, does not make their own. Ronnies sells Chris's stuffed chickens, they don't do their own. So ronnies is chris's and chris's is ronnies.

I'll second bourree. The classic boudin is great, imo.

There is no good boudin east of the river. Might as well try to send them pickled unicorn dick.

I disagree. Ronnie's is pretty damn good. It's not as good as Billy's, but it can hold its own.

Do they sell the smoked kind?

I like a lot of the stuff Chris does, but they might need to settle for getting Ronnies cracklins sent in to sell instead of whatever the hell it was they sold me two weeks ago that they made.

I've gotten boudin from this guy a few times. Fantastic. His crawfish boudin is solid as well. The best I've had outside of the Lafayette area.

Didn't even see you recommended it as well. His boudin is awesome. Many of my friends think its the best boudin they've had.
