Best BBQ in Lockhart, TX

Passing through Lockhart today for lunch and have never been. Where should I stop? Smitty's? Blacks? Kreuz?

Any of those listed you won't be disappointed. I prefer Smitty's but like them all as well as Chisholm Trail which doesn't get a lot of publicity. They have a great chopped beef sandwich.
Smitty's has great pork ribs that are big and I find a hidden gem. Get a couple of those to try.

Kruez and Smitty's >> Black's in my opinion. If I only could have one for the rest of my life, it would be Smitty's. Thanks god that's not an issue though because I love Kruez as well.

Smitty tends to be pretty inconsistent. I'd say Blacks for lunch, then stop by Kruez to grab some sausage links for the road.

Chisholm Trail is overshadowed by the hype of others but the best value for awesome Q. Was our go to when my bro lived there.

If you can go to Luling just south instead, go to City Market. Get many rings of their sausage. Best sausage in the state. Brisket is good too.
Otherwise, Kreuzs. Smittys has been way too inconsistent lately. And the love for Blacks is because of the side options.

I've had Luling City Market, Black's and Smitty's and I'd go with Luling City Market all day. Wasn't too impressed with Black's or Smitty's.

I was not impressed with Blacks. Kreuz had some damn good brisket but their sides were meh. I haven't been to Smittys.
