Been years since I've been there. Will be down in a few weeks. What is the top Louisiana style seafood place in town?

Looking for LA style seafood. Seafood platters, stuffed fish, etc.

Lots to choose from I'd you are just looking for fried seafood. Parrains, Sammys, Chimes

If you want really good seafood there are better options.

The new Roux 61 on Bluebonnet impressed me. Seafood platter comes with non-typical things like boiled shrimp and fried soft shell crab. Nice atmosphere too.

That's what I would recommend. Acme is pretty good too.

Parrain's is what you want.

And Roux 61 may be a great option, though I have not hit the BR location.

They aren't the same type of restaurant, and though I was a huge fan of the Destin LL location, I hate the BR outfit. Feels like I'm in a goddamn Taco Bell. frick that noise.

Went to Roux 61 last week and it was solid. Parrains had been my go-to, but Roux 61 may have it beat.

Drive out to Roberto's in St. Gabriel. I put it ahead of any of these other places listed.

In BR, I think Parrain's may be your best bang for your buck.

Eta: Roberto's isn't really that far off the path. Only a 15 minute drive from the LSU area. Maybe 20 minutes from downtown, 10 if you're staying at L'Auberge.

Also, if you're not worried about meal price, Stroubes downtown is excellent.
