Beef Stew Accompaniment of Choice?

What do you like to serve your beef stew over?
Mashed potatoes?
Rice?
Something else?
Nothing?
For me, my grandfather was a part of the rice industry in SW La so we always served it over rice. A recent post showed it served over mashed potatoes, but we always included potatoes in the stew.

At the Robert's Cove Germanfest it's over rice, so at home, it's rice. Also, my FIL is a rice farmer, so rice

Cornbread. When my husband and I were dating and I made cornbread as the side he thought it was weird that I didn't serve it with rice. Now, when I ask what he would prefer, he always wants cornbread.

My mother always had potatos in it and we ate it with good French bread and soft butter. We never had potatos and rice together. So that's how I do it now.
