Followed a simple recipe for a crockpot beef & broccoli. Only thing I changed was it needed lots of salt and pepper, plus a pinch of cayenne. Sesame oil was very expensive, so I used olive oil and roasted almonds. I added water chestnuts and whole baby corn.

(Not my photo)

Mix oil, soy, sugar, garlic, & beef broth. Thinly slice roast and add beef and mixture to crockpot. (I also added salt, pepper, punch of cayenne & sliced roasted almonds).

Cook on low for about 5 hours. Remove cup of sauce and make slurry with cornstarch, put back in pot. Added broccoli (and I added water chestnuts & baby corn).

Cook for another 30 mins.

Serve over rice.

Was pretty damn good

When the recipe calls for 1 tbsp of sesame seed oil and it is $9 a bottle, gotta find a substitute. My substitute worked VERY well, esp with the oven roasted almonds.

You need to change where you shop.
