Going to be spending a week on the beach with the family shortly. Looking for recommendations for good beach drinking. I'm a bourbon fan, but don't want to get too slizzered while out there. What do you guys take to the sand in your coolers? Condo is a cross the street so I'd rather not be going back and forth for mixers or blender or whatnot.

I'm kind of dieting, so my go to last month on our trip was sparkling ice mixed with vodka.

Do you like grapefruit? If so, make a salty dog if you can find Simply Grapefruit. Great on the beach and loaded with vitamins.

I drink beer at the beach. And then I'll bring along some more beer, and toss in some extra beers also. If you're in a fairy fruity type of mood I would suggest beer.

I have made this for beach trips before and everybody really enjoys it.

Ingredients:

1 (750 ml) bottle of sweet red wine
1/2 cup orange juice, preferably freshly squeezed
1/2 cup lime juice, preferable freshly squeezed
1/4 cup 1:1 simple syrup (see note)
1/2 cup orange liquor, such as triple sec or cointreau
1/2 cup silver tequila

Directions:

Add all of the ingredients to a large pitcher. Stir to combine.
Place the mixture in the refrigerator to chill, about 2 hours.
