Bay Leaf really should revamp their image

I love Indian food and I go to Bay Leaf and Curry & Kabab regularly. Bay Leaf always strikes me odd with the stuffy atmosphere, white table cloths, and waiters in tuxedos or dress shirt and tie.
I'm here now getting a to-go order. Of course they have like three tables occupied and all three are people dressed in shirts, jeans, shorts, etc.
I love the food but hate the stuffy atmosphere for a place that isn't a "white table cloth" caliber restaurant.
I love K&C's casual atmosphere, but abhor their air conditioning situation.
These first world problems are rough.

I didn't know the first time I went and felt really out of place with the more upscale atmosphere.

Yup, you nailed it. Bay Leaf is way too stuffy and I feel uncomfortable going in there. I usually just get to-go from there.
C&K is my favorite but their air-conditioner can not keep up with warm temps. I went for the last time a couple of weeks ago and will not be going back until it starts getting cool again so probably October or November. Unfortunate but just the way it is.
I have a Groupon to Al-Noor that I will use this summer but in the past they weren't my favorite.

Not nearly as good as the other two mentioned and their naan is the worst of all. No one can even compete with C&K on the naan anyway but India's is just a joke.

I'm with you on the atmosphere stuffiness. The prices seem a touch steep too for a casual Indian dinner.
