Battered fries - does anybody else object to these?

It ruins perfectly good fries to put batter on them before frying. Keep it simple: just deep fried potatoes with salt.

That's why I don't get some folks obsession with Rally's fries. Battered fries are horrible.

I've never cared much for them. Homemade fries don't need a batter for me.

then don't eat them. Jesus Christ, its not like someone put ketchup on standing rib or cut a glass of Pappys with coke. Its a frcikin french fry. outside of burning it, what differnce does it make if its battered or "naked"?

Popeye's does this, and I enjoy their fries.
The Chimes does as well... and I enjoy their fries as well.

I just prefer unbattered. I was just wondering if other people do. Sounds like a lot of people do like their fries battered. Don't get your panties in a wad...

I do hand-cut rosemary, garlic battered fries sometimes. They're delicious.
