Maison Lacour -- best restaurant in the city; doesn't receive nearly enough acclaim.
I agree on Thai Pepper -- best lunch in town

Isn't Egg Roll King closed? I could've sworn they shut down after the flood.
I'll also throw out Dang's and La Morenita

Rama. Not a doubt in my mind it will be my last meal in Baton Rouge before I move.

Well, it's on the wrong side of Airline @ I-10, so it may as well not exist.

If you're going to mention am mart you have to mention Inga's Giant steak

Glad someone saved me the effort. I genuinely don't understand why people go there at all, much less rave about it

I moved from Baton Rouge and was wondering which restaurants I'd really miss. I realized it's close to none.
I do miss the cup and a half lunch option at Dempsy's. The BBQ burger at Mason's Grill was solid. Also the Vietnamese places on Florida, including Dangs. I miss Vinh Phat grocery because they would carry Japanese groceries. I can't find crap here in Lafayette except mirin and nori.
The restaurants I do miss are no longer in existence. Ronnie's Ribs for Jamaican and Montana's for Colombian.

Most people living on the south or the west side of town never venture north and east of I-10 @ Airline unless they absolutely have to.
People from LP just drive past the area.
People from AP never drive near there.
Unless you live in Shenandoah, Broodmoor, or one of those apartment complexes off of Sherwood, I can see how people would never notice that place.

Not sure how far you are moving away but you may also want to come down here to New Orleans and hit a few places before leaving.

I was just confused about Airline and I-10. You must mean Airline and I-12.
