Basket for 100 qt. crawfish pot

I recently acquired a 100 qt. crawfish pot with burner from my pops. The only problem is the basket he gave me is about 25 qts. I was wondering were in BR would be a good place to purchase just a basket for the 100 qt. pot.

TIA

Screw an expensive basket.

A nylon bag works just fine.

Academy has them. The same kind of bags used to carry sports equipment (soccer, basketballs, etc.).

Seems like that would rip pretty easily.

My dad made went to a place that makes crab traps and had them make him one. Been using it for 20 years now. It's made of out the same thing minnow cages are made out of.

interesting, I'm intrigued. Never thought of this. Do you use one for everything, or crawfish in one, veggie in another? It doesn't keep them too close together? Got any pictures of someone doing this?

Most nylon is rip stop.

The bags work. I use one for the crawfish and a separate one for veggies.

Works like a charm. My bags have lasted multiple seasons.

Not sure about what's available in BR but if they have a restaurant supply store go there with the pot or measurements and they should be able to help you. I know I bought a heavy duty 100 qt. stock pot a while back and they do have baskets for it. If you come to New Orleans try Caire Restaurant Supply. Good prices too.

No. I'm not the type that needs to collect a photo expose of my boils.

Maybe Pinterest can help.

Nylon drawstring bags work for any pot size and are much cheaper than the baskets.

I'm not gonna ever buy a basket.
My bags work damn well.

Replace pictured contents with crawfish. Buy a clear one if blue scares you.

Bags are great. Also allow for more crawfish because they don't take up space of basket

The nylon doesn't melt when it contacts the bottom of the pot?

The nylon bag idea doesn't sound like a terrible idea, but I've always used a basket.

I have seen a family friend just dump the crawfish straight into the water -- no basket or anything, and then use something like this to scoop the crawfish out:
Image: http://c.shld.net/rpx/i/s/pi/mp/11179/6444048403p?src=http%3A%2F%2Fecx.images-amazon.com%2Fimages%2FI%2F31VbRaDNhhL.jpg&d=262ef1c993711db4479f9a853115fe138f1f0884

I used to use something like that for catching sand crabs in GI when I was a kid, so I was pretty surprised when I saw him doing this for crawfish. It seemed to work though and he was able to get the crawfish out surprising fast.

No. Doesn't melt when it touches the side, either.

Same idea as the net above, just easier.
