So I'm trying to find a cool bar to take the lady in Vegas. Not looking for a nightclub atmosphere. Maybe a nice view or just a great atmosphere. Preferably on the strip. She wants to dress slutty and go out.

Mandalay Bay's Foundation Room.

More of a sitting environment, wonderful views. Very nice.

If you're staying at even a half decent hotel there should be a director of entertainment or the like on site. Those guys would love for you to spend money at their place, but they usually give honest opinions about surrounding places.

Anyway, I lived in Vegas for quite a while and loved the FR. I think it's exactly what you're looking for.

Foundation Room is a good rec.

Parasol Down in the Wynn is right on the Lake of Dreams.

Hyde in Bellagio is an upscale lounge with views of the Fountains. It turns in to a club later in the night. I wasn't a big fan, but a lot of people like it.

ETA - It doesn't have a view, but Public House in the Venetian is a great bar.

Do you have to be a member at the foundation room?

I whooped Rustys arse for pulling that shite. I had to add on to the house just to fit all his new cars in the garage.

It's off the strip but check out the Ghost Bar in the Palms. Awesome view of the strip and had a hell of a time there with the ol lady and another couple.

Agree with Foundation Room & Ghostbar. Also Level 107 at the Stratosphere. Or get a table outside at Mon Ami Gabi at Paris, across from the Bellagio fountains...if it's not too hot.

If y'all are gonna be in town for Life is Beautiful, I recommend Carson Kitchen, Atomic Liquors, Downtown Cocktail Room, and The Griffin downtown. Oh, and Gold Spike.

Interesting old Vegas date restaurants: Hugo's Cellar and the Golden Steer. Very rat-pack-ish.

Also...Peppermill Fireside Lounge. It's a diner and a necessary late-night experience, but also has a (fireside) lounge.

Peppermill Fireside Lounge
We had our wedding reception there. Think it made some listicle of the sexiest bars in America -- they shot a scene from Casino there.

We're more dive bar type folks than classy places, and we really liked Frankie's Tiki Room. Full of kitschy stuff, like old records. Plus, they make strong arse drinks.

If only considering the strip consider Mandarin Bar at Mandarin Oriental. Make a reservation and ask for a view looking more north.

Chandelier Bar at Cosmopolitan. Go to level 1.5 and order her a Verbena. It has a Szechuan button. Have her take a sip of the drink and then have her chew on the button and take another sip of the drink. They only make them on the 1.5 level.

Hyde at The Ballagio. It's hard to beat a view of the famous fountains. If you go before 9pm it's more of a lounge and doesn't have a cover charge.

Once ya'll get a few drinks in your system you may want to check out Carnival Court next to Harrah's. They usually have live bands along with flair bartenders. It's not usually nightclub-like and not usually a problem getting in.

Finally, go find a Groupon for the High Roller observation wheel. They have some pods set up with an open bar. It's a 30 minute ride and provides a good view of the strip. There is never a line for this thing so don't pay full price.

This man knows what he's talking about. Let me also recommend The Park on Freemont. I want to try Oak & Ivy.

Good call, forgot about Park...especially outside as long as it's cooled down a bit.

And yeah, I'm a fan of Frankie's (and Golden Tiki) like the dude above. Just figured it wasn't really their bag.

One of the greatest 2am or later people watching spots around. Haha. Food is good too.

Will be there for Life is Beautiful but didn't plan on going down there because the bands don't really interest me for the price.

We always do breakfast at Peppermill after a long night out. Saw them filming Gigolos there last time.

Plan on checking these out. Thanks.
