^^^ What he said. The guac is great and I do like their burger. It's all good though. I've always had solid meals there. Can be a bit pricey for somewhat small portions, but usually worth it.

Definitely try the redfish and pork belly ones then. They're great.

Did the taco trio here in Bham. Like the shrimp the best.

Ro is spot on. Their burger is great if you're in the mood for one.

Carne de cerdo taco is by far the best taco. My wife gets their chopped salad and adds tuna. They usually have a good special too.

And you need to grab drinks at Apothecary in the back of Brent's if you've never been

Thanks, All. Will stop in at lunch today on the way though town. Drinks will have to wait for a more relaxed trip.

Wait... Brent's now has a bar, too?

Yeah, I'm old enough to have enjoyed burgers at the original lunch counter, when it was really a drug store.

They still have the diner out front, but they also have a "secret" hidden-door accessed mixology style bar in the back. They make pretty good cocktails and it's a good atmosphere .. especially considering the other bar options in Jackson. But the whole place has a bit of a too late to the party feel. The whole speakeasy trend peaked in 2009.

After the already mentioned recs, I really liked the "steak on a stick" tapas. It sounds cheesy, but its very well done and delicious

That'll be a welcome edition I'm sure. Jackson still needs some help with the nightlife. Restaurants have certainly improved as I'm sure you know. Parlor Market is on point.

agree with all of that. there's generally nothing to do other than sit at a bar (usually in restaurants) and have drinks. duling has been hosting some decent bands over the past couple years but it's pretty infrequent. livingston has stepped it up too regarding music
