Well, wires were crossed and we showed up on the wrong day for the reservation. Then more wires were crossed and we missed the correct reservation day/time. So I still haven't been.

Quick review - mixed.

Sat right away, it was cold so we opted to stay inside, but the little patio looked nice enough. service was awful... really bad... it happens and i was expecting it but.... when you are no longer serving banh mi AND pho for the night, you would think that would be among the first things mentioned. nope. waited until we put in our entree orders. had some similar issues with apps and drinks being out and not being warned (no crab left for instance).

food was really good though.

ended up pretty limited on options but had the shrimp and pork dumplings (pork filled dumpling with fried shrimp on top). had a couple of tasty of sauces with it. simple but enjoyed.

split some bacos - likewise good - didnt really have one that stood out but all were on point.

as everything else was gone, a vermicelli bowl was really the only option besides ordering some more apps. i did the pork-fecta (belly, roasted, and chargrilled)... all three were good - the chargrilled was the best. had a really nice flavor off the grill. smoky (in the best of ways) and delicious.

ill probably give it a few weeks to iron things out, but i will certainly be back. girlfriend doesnt like treking out to the east for vietnamese but enjoyed this.

ill stress though, besides the terrible waitress, and them obviously still getting their inventory figured out.... the food was really good. if they were going to get one thing right, they got they got the important one. the others should be easy to fix

I had a similar experience on Thursday night.

Sadly, the service was as bad as I have ever experienced. I didn't really care as it was a soft opening and it's a casual place. They didn't bring us 1 of the apps we ordered. The entree's came before the bacos. When we asked the server to ID the baco's, he was unable. It took 2 hours to finish our meal on a slow night. They apologized for the poor service and even gave us 25% off instead of the 15%, without us saying anything.

That being said, the food was very good. My party thoroughly enjoyed the bacos. All entree's were consumed in a hurry.
We ordered
1 chicken wing- well cooked and seasoned
1 spring roll- better than the ones at Kim Ahn's IMO
4 different bacos all delicious.
4 seperate entree's including the pork-fecta, grilled pork with sticky rice & eggroll. very good. eggroll is filled with sausage. 2 other entrees were very tasty.
I will def. go back and soon. It's not up to snuff with Tan Din yet but that isn't a surprise.

Check it out!
