Mrs 0358 and I are doing Asheville at the end of March. Haven't ironed out lunch/dinner yet except for Moe's BBQ on the day we tour Biltmore and do the winery.

Lunch can be anywhere in the Asheville area. Dinner I'd prefer to be downtown.

Brewery recs and a place with good martini's for the wife are needed.

I think I ate at the Biltmore in the old horse stables. It was a pretty good meal from what I remember.

The best beers we drank while in Asheville two months ago were Burial and Wicked Weed. WW is a more "classy," modern establishment, and Burial is more grungy. Both are cool atmospheres. Both have great beers. WW has really good food too.

My favorite restaurant that we ate at while we were there was this place:

If you like Caribbean food, then you'll love that place.

Just a few of my favorites:

Breakfast, you've got to check out the Sunny Point Cafe in the west side.

Lunch, I recommend the Early Girl downtown at least once.

Dinner, my favorite if the Tupelo Honey Cafe.

Many, many other good places I'm sure will be recommended.

The restaurant/brewpub at Sierra Nevada is amazing. You could Damn near make a day of that... lunch outside... there's a big outdoor area with fire pits bocce ball, corn hole, and a stage, with food trucks. Hang out there, do a tour and then dinner in the brew pub.

Wicked Weed's restaurant is great too.

Be sure to check out Funkatorium, which is Wicked Weed's Sour beer joint.

Spent a week in October in Asheville.

Had some really great meals at Pasana, Rhubarb, Zambra, and also Wicked Weed.

All downtown and within walking distance of the Hotel Indigo where we stayed.

I really enjoyed the food in Asheville and also found it to be pretty inexpensive.

The admiral was incredible. Grilled elk loon and general Tso's sweetbreads. Posano was good, so was tupelo honey cafe. We also ate at some restaurant in antler hill at the biltmore. Really good as well.

For beer, wicked weed funkatorium was my favorite (sour beer place). The food at the wicked weed pub was good for lunch. Burial was my 2nd favorite brewery and Sierra Nevada brewery is really cool to visit.

Oh and do the lazoom Asheville bus tour. It's basically a rolling comedy show. It was pretty funny. We went last October so it was Halloween themed.

Sorry forgot a couple more recs. High five coffee bar was some of the best coffee I've ever had. And stop by French broad chocolates. We did a wine and chocolate tasting at he biltmore and they used their chocolate. We later went to the shop and brought back a few bars. Best chocolate I've ever had too.

We had a great meal at Sierra Nevada's brew pub. The short ribs were terrific.
White Duck Taco Shop is excellent.
Battery Park Used Bookstore is a cool bookstore with a nice bar in it.
Barley's Tap Room is a good pizza joint. Bartender was a nice dude.
Wicked Weed Funktorium had good small plates.

I second the battery park book store. Also, French Broad Chocolate Factory (I think) was real cool. Tupelo Honey Cafe was nice. I would recommend doing the "Eat Asheville" good tour. Lots of restaurants and learn about food/city. Navitat has cool zip lining through mountains as well.

I would do 12 Bones over Moe's. Or in addition to Moe's I guess. For lunch downtown I like Tupelo Honey, White Duck taco shop, Farm Burger, Chestnut and Wicked Weed. Packs Tavern ain't a bad option either.

Universal Joint makes a good burger, if you find yourself in West Asheville. I don't think anyone mentioned New Belgium, but they have a really nice tasting room with a deck overlooking the river.

Go to search through the travel board, there have been at least 10 threads on this particular city in the past several months.

I've never been there but judging by the number of requests it sounds like it's a pretty cool spot to visit.
