Artificial sweeteners...which is considered the safest?

Been reading bad things about sucra and aspartame
that scare the hell out of me. Who's done some homework on them?

Have not done research, but I've heard enough about Splenda that I switched to Sweet'n Low. Figure that even though it's artificial, it's been around a long time now and is at least safer than Splenda and Nutrasweet.

Stevia/Truvia just isn't sweet enough for my taste. I only use one SNL for each cup of coffee. Trying to wean myself from artificial sweeteners altogether.

Stevia. It's natural at least.

It may or may not be the safest, I do not know, but when someone says "it's natural" and indicate any type of health benefit I ask them if hog lard , chicken shit, lead, mercury, opium, or a million other things are good for you just because they are "natural"

Do you intake that much sugar that you need a substitute for the real thing?

Can't they use honey or agave nectar or something natural?

Nah, those things don't have TV commercials and marketing campaigns.

I tell you what sweetener is proven to lead to debilitating disease: sugard.

The excessive processed sugar in our diets is leading to obesity and a diabetes epidemic.

I say this as I eat my PB&J sandwich at 12:10 a.m.

I use stevia.

Honey still has sugar, as does agave nectar, so I avoid them.

I do drink a lot of diet sodas though, so I suppose I'm still downing lots of aspartame.

I tried to use this, and I just can't get used to the taste of it. I thought it had a weird aftertaste.

It is natural but it is anecdotally at least used for birth control in paraguay. There hasn't been any conclusive research on it, but if you're trying to get pregnant, stevia could get in your way.

I'd like to know too. When splenda first came out, it was touted as being "natural" too. Let's face it, no processed food item (including ordinary table sugar) is really "natural."

I'd like to get off of artificial sweetners too, but I always have my can of Coke Zero and my 3 packets of splenda every day.
