Good morning, all. I got it in this weekend, and I have no regrets. Mercy is for the weak.

Friday after work, we had plans to watch Jurassic World at Canal Place. I ran out my office and swept the little lady up. She had a Beam ready for me!

We parked in the garage and went to Felipe's for a quick dinner. We started with some margaritas and watched the UF/UVA game. They were decent ritas, and reasonably priced at $6. My only complaint is that they take too long to make, since they juice the really small limes for each drink. Orders can get backed up.

After three rounds, we got in line to make my dinner. I went with the plato without tortillas. For the meat I went with the chicken tinga. I enjoyed the plate and found this location to be better than the Calhoun store.

From there, we walked back to the show in the lovely New Orleans heat. When seated, I ordered a fig old fashion. It was quite good and a lot better than the previous old fashion I had had there.

After the movie, we all went to the Polo Lounge for drinks and caviar. Robin Barnes was singing. She sings at my church, so it's good to see her succeed. I had a few old fashions. The caviar was outstanding. They even hooked me up. I tried to order my friends Cajun Caviar, but they were out. They gave me the higher priced one at his price. I was pleased.

The bar suddenly got packed with a wedding rehearsal group. I decided to leave. We walked to Bar Vin. It's a pretty good wine bar in the Quarter, and Patrick is one of a kind. I was so hot, and my jeans were packing in the steam. I decided to order a cold beer to cool down.

After the beer, I ordered a meritage and it was quite tasty.

After Bar Vin, we returned home.

On Saturday, I washed my car and picked up breakfast at Freret Street Poboys. I grabbed a sausage biscuit and apple fritter. They were both very good. The fritter was huge and hit the spot. I can't wait to go back for another.

I had plans to meet a friend in the Quarter around 10:30 to look at properties. I grabbed a few beers at Lafitte's and embarked on my way. I was hot as frick.

Midway through the search, my stomach started to rumble from the fritter and beer combo. It's very important when traveling the Quarter to have a place to shite. I enjoy the Royal Orleans.

After my walk, I returned to Lafitte's for more beer to cool down. They had several bachelorette parties enjoying the air and music.

From there, I wanted to go and check out what the fuss about the St. Roch Market was about. I was disappointed. I was hoping to find a market. I just found a bunch of vendors selling food. The produce I did see looked like shite.

Anyway, I ordered a dozen of oysters, a crepe with pulled pork and macaroni and a crab cake. The food was good and they had a bunch of options. The crab cake was my favorite. I don't see myself returning to the "market" often, since we have many places in town that serve good food and groceries.

After lunch, we returned Uptown. I sat down and watched a little tv to cool down. After an hour, we went to the Columns. I got an old fashion and a mint julep. Both drinks were very underwhelming.

We left there and went to Delachaise. I ordered a beer, frog legs and steak bruschetta. The frog legs were very good. The beef was overcooked, but the flavors were decent.

I noticed the bartender was making pimm's cups with fresh orange. I gave it a try and enjoyed it.

From there we walked to some beer garden around Touro. I got some beer.

My bro called me and told me he was at Superior. I walked over to meet him. I grabbed a dozen and a beer. That place is always packed and the food seems mediocre to me.

My niece started to make some noise, so I had to share some carrot cake with her. That bitch only wanted to eat the icing!

From there, my bro dropped me off. I think I sat down on the couch and passed out.

On Sunday, I awoke for mass a couple hours early. I hit the pool then went to church. Mass was good, but I got dropped off. I had to walk to Lafitte's in jeans and a button down. I stopped at Matassa's for a quick bite. The coolers were putting off some nice air and I hung out by them for a few minutes. When my hot do poboy was ready, I walked to Lafitte's.

I plopped down and went to town on my sandwich. For $4, it was delicious. It went down smoothly with the Beam.

I wasn't driving, so I could drink at will before the father's day meal. I finished the fifth while enjoying a nice 90's medley.

The little lady picked me up around 3 and said I smelled like Beam. I think she was turned on.

We got to the party, and I made my way around the kitchen. We were having sausage, spinach tomatoes, brisket, corn casserole, beans, and salad. Everything was delicious. I love conecuh sausage off the grill.

After putting down some food, I retired to the living room to watch the golf tourney. I enjoyed it with my peanut butter pie.

I went home to watch True Detective and passed out.

Stay, fat my friends.

I have a few hotels in the area that I use as well. Not necessarily for poop But just because bar bathrooms in the Quarter are no bueno.

You keep this up much longer and your sign off will have to read "Stay very fat my friends"

Either way...

Also my go-to hidey hole dump location in the Quarter. If you hedonists defile it, I will find you. At least buy a drink and tip the bartender before heading in there.

Real important to have a place to dump in the quarter...... I typically hit the fancier places, they dont seem to care as much as the trashier places.

Yep.

I stop in fancy hotels to use the bathroom when driving as well.

I stopped at a shitty motel in Lake Charles once, and the receptionist screamed at me for going into their bathroom without asking first (she wasn't in the lobby when I went in). But pull into a downtown area's Hilton or something, and you're fine.

When near the Quarter, I often stop at Roosevelt. They have lots of foot traffic and they have Sazarac and Domenica inside, so no one cares if you're a guest or not. And they have immaculate bathrooms with pretty embroidered towels.
Monteleone is a good stop too, but not quite as nice as Roosevelt.

Nice bathroom.

My only complaint about both places is that the doors to the stalls open towards the toilet. A big baw like me usually has trouble when exiting.

I'll give up my top bathroom pick in the FQ simply in gratitude for getting to read these every Monday....least I can do.

Upstairs at Muriel's before you get to the balcony, they've got men's/women's rooms, but in between those is a unisex/ADA stall/studio apt. It's usually available, massive, and always cool. A perfect combo in the summertime. Hell, it may have its own thermostat in there.

Was up there this weekend, but didn't need the private one.

In the quarter, there's a (i think) new W on Chartres. Has nice men's room with full stall doors. Out of the quarter, Intercontinental has great ones, as does the Hilton.

Since we are going this direction with the thread, I will add that the Hyatt near the dome is a great choice, especially before or after Saints games.
Take the escalator to the 2nd floor and there is a nice restroom that is always perfectly clean.

Great thread as usual Arse.

Their "lobby" is so huge that I am not surprised by this. I imagine they probably have several restrooms to accommodate that big of a general area.

Hotels are my go-to bathroom stop because everyone staying there is using their private bathroom in their room, so they're almost always empty. And random foot traffic doesn't think to stop in a hotel to use the restroom.
