Persian and Arabic food is meh. Greek food is much better. But Indian and Thai blow all of the above out of the water.

I've been to almaza several times; I wouldn't consider it Persian.

Based on limited experience I'd say Persian

I enjoy all of these cuisines but my few experiences at Persian restaurants were excellent. My favorite was probably Cafe Caspian in Houston.

Pretty much.

Anyway, my comment earlier was intended to stir some shite.

I have Arab acquaintances in Bahrain, UAE and Saudi who consider Iranian cum Persian food, the top kitchen or cuisine in the Persian Gulf.

But they aren´t, are they?

That´s like me preferring to be called Iberian.

Makes no sense (in 2015).
What? An Iranian calling themselves Persian is perfectly acceptable and makes complete sense. It is the same as a Boudreaux from Lafayette calling themselves Cajun

I have no idea as to whether or not this could be considered the same

It is. T-mike Boudreaux is clearly an American, but he is of cajun descent so it is acceptable for him to call himself Cajun. Reza Farahan is clearly an Iranian, but he is of Persian descent so it is acceptable for him to call himself Persian

All Persians are Iranians, but not all Iranians are Persians. Correct?

I get where you´re going with this (it´s kind of like the Basques), methinks.

Anyway, I get hung up on the historical or antiquated name for the area (Persia), and the fact that it seems they call themselves Persian so as not to be called Iranian (as if this were bad).

I think it is more them calling themselves Persian to differentiate themselves from Arabs.
