Anyone remember Pasta Garden?

The main one on Sherwood and then they had a short-lived one on Perkins where La Lagniappe is now. Had a couple incredible dishes. Still sad they are no more.

Yeah, it was basically like a localized version of Olive Garden. It wasn't awful, but there was something decidedly 'chainey' about the place.

For that matter, anyone remember Semolina's?

There's still one open at Clearview Mall.

Worked there in high school. Loved their food. Everything was fresh except the lasagna. They made giant pans in the morning and just reheated in the microwave when it was ordered.

No kidding? I just assumed they all shut down.

The salad with the noodles and the best calamari in town. When did it close? Seems like it was there for years. Not sure why the Perkins location never took off. I always think of Zorba's when I see Louisiana lagniappe

I would hope nobody expects any item that is baked to be baked from raw when they order

i remember seeing the place from I-12 when I first moved to the area. Never made it inside.

Giovanni closed the Sherwood location because of the roadword on South Harrels Ferry. He also owned the building that Zorba's had vacated. He was having difficulty leasing a space that was not occupied, so he simply moved the Pasta Garden into the Zorba's location for as long as it took to lease it out.
Giovanni said that it was much easier to rent a restaraunt space if it is occupied. I guess he was right.

If I remember correctly, Pasta Garden was run by the same folks who had Giovanni's down on Highland. They had a cookbook that I swore by, but lost it in the Flood.

I believe he opened a restaurant in Gonzales a few years ago and has since closed it. Can't remember its name though.

Does anyone remember the Italian restaurant in Coratna that was next to Orange Julius. It was down near the chic-fil-a? That place was very good too. They had some good dishes.
