I like him and his recipes. I've used some as guides. Good info on some.

There's more than one "Good Eats" cookbook. I think he published a few. All I have is the first one, but it's loaded with recipes.

I liked the one where he made a smoker out of a hot plate and garbage can.

( I just realized I sound like Chris Farley, may he RIP )

I always liked the show, even though I'll never forget the ridiculous derrick he constructed to fry a turkey.

I have to agree, what happened to cooking shows instead of goddamn contests? Chopped, Cupcake Wars, Worst Cook...I hate, hate, hate, cooking contests.

It was my favorite cooking show by far but I'm pretty sure you're watching re-runs.

Jeff Smith was great regarding food history and chemistry. But he got canceled for sex abuse.

Love the show and he is a member of an AR15 site. Nice down to earth guy.

alton brown is very knowledgable, but his good eats recipes are lackluster.

The only negative I remember was sometimes his presentations made me think that pulling off a certain dish required a miracle.

Remember that time you made a smoker out of a hot plate and garbage can?

That was awesome.

I wish Alton would've still continued Good Eats instead of being a host on that dumb show Cutthroat Kitchen.

I watched his show on a regular schedule, but he embarrassed himself several times that I know of when talking about Louisiana food. And a lot of his schtick was cringeworthy.

I learned how to make steak from S:1 E:1. Easy quick and consistent way to cook steaks.

Also use his method to make omelots.

Love Good Eats

I love Alton too
Got to meet him once when he was hired as a speaker for a client of mine
I am embarrassed to say I was super nervous and he was so, so cool
good eats is one of the ten best TV shows ever on my list
the humor, knowledge, production value and creativity is fantastic

AB is my default when I go looking for a recipe
