I will be working some long hours the next couple days and would like to have something ready when i get home. What are some good recipes? Only thing i have really done in my slow cooker is a roast with carrots and potatoes.

I like all food so i'm good with anything.

so many things. so many easy things. Easiest one we do that's good is bbq in crock pot. bbq sauce and that's it.

same for chicken tacos. basically just taco seasoning. use whole chicken breast then shred when done

And all of these things could be done in an instant pot in less than an hour.

1 tablespoon cornstarch
8 medium carrots, cut into thirds
1 -3 lb beef chuck roast
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

In slow cooker, stir together cornstarch and 2 tablespoons cold water until smooth. Add carrots and onions; season with salt and pepper, and toss.

2. Sprinkle roast with 1 teaspoon salt and 1/2 teaspoon pepper; place on top of vegetables, and drizzle with Worcestershire. Cover; cook on high, 6 hours (or on low, 10 hours).

I'm pretty sure you need to do a fast boil for a bit before adding those beans if you want to avoid potential illness (phytohaemagglutinin).

If you're using a slow cooker, I'd recommend using canned beans, which are already cooked.

The simplest thing I do ...

Put 8 chicken thighs (bone in, w/ skin) in pot.

Squirt some BBQ sauce in there.
Squirt your favorite hot sauce to taste.

Cook on low while you're at work or playing golf.
The smell is great when you walk in the door.

put roast in crockpot, pour in water, sprinkle soup mix on top roast and some in water around the edges. Set crockpot on low when you leave the house, enjoy when you get home.

Plop your chuck roast on top and cut 4 deep slices into the chuck roast and push your garlic cloves into the roast.
Now add all your spices and salt and pepper. Then add your tomato sauce, diced tomatoes, capers, and bay leaf to the rest of the crockpot.
