I am thinking about ordering a couple of lobsters and some bisque, etc.. for my first anniversary. Do any of yall have any experience with any companies? Any places to avoid? TIA
ETA: Probably not just lobster but a whole meal... unless you guys advise otherwise!

How far away from a real grocery store do you live? Most have lobsters, which will be cheaper than fed exing over night

About .5 miles from a kroger! I just wasnt sure if those were any "good" or not

In my opinion, lobster travels decently. Is it is good as something right off the docks in bar Harbor Maine or in the Caribbean? No. But that isn't the scenario you find yourself in. Save the money, buy from grocery store

The shipping on a few live lobsters is going to be quite steep even with the bisque. I ordered bisque once when I ordered some nice tails, but it wasn't so great. The tails were beautiful, though. I ordered enough of them to warrant the shipping costs.

Just watch when they pick them out of the tank to make sure they're lively. If so, they should be fine. I buy them from the grocery from time to time and have them steam them for me. I just pay attention to what they get from the tank. I usually ask them to take them out before they're completely done so I can re-steam just to heat them if I'm serving them whole. That way, I can let them cool, cut the tail and crack the claws for easier eating if I want, before I re-steam for just a few minutes to heat them.
You can make the clarified butter at home. Steam/boil some potatoes and corn and you have the basic lobster plate. Light some candles and enjoy.

Just got back from Maine, and not that helps you much, but everyone up there was talking about how plentiful and cheap the lobsters were right now

Carribbean spiny lobster is the bomb, but don't play with them without gloves on, your hands will not like being infected by the shite on the spines.
