the bit on bourdain's show was interesting, and he's taught at gw in dc ... how food has shaped culture and a course involving physics/food ... seems like a very interesting guy ... not sure what legal footing he has in his dispute, but i wish him well ...

I have no idea why he´d let himself get involved with Trump in the first place. I really don´t. Bad agent, most likely.

Still remember when he got his two year stint on Spanish TV. I was amazed that some super country dude was on the TV cooking. I had NO idea who he was here in the USA.

Yes, at Cafe Atlantico in the heyday of minibar, and many times at Jaleo. Always good food, and his Made in Spain TV series was great.

Yea I've been to Bazaar in Los Angeles and China poblano in Vegas. Bazaar especially is incredibly showy and borderline gaudy. Very Hollywood. Food at both is good but not spectacular

I've eaten at two in DC, Oyamel and American eats, I had extensive reviews of each with pictures on this board.

he was on unique eats the other day, though it's a repeat so it may be a couple of years old ... i'd seen it before ... wd-50 in los angeles, i believe ... did a take on a philly cheese steak sandwich ... a pita dough pastry puff, filled with some filthy rich concoction of cheese (used a drill device to deftly put a small hole in the pastry for the cheese) ... then layered it with thin slices of, i assume, japanese beef of some kind, seared with a torch and topped with some chives or something ...

looked very good ...

The Philly cheesesteak thing is pretty good I have to say but it was the magnum opus of the meal I had which says a lot

Ate at Bazarre a few months ago in South Beach. One of the best meals I've had. Got to try a lot of stuf I don't normally try.

For the price, i don't know if I'd go back but it was certainly an experience

My wife and I have had the pleasure of dining at three of his restaurants, all with tasting menus:
SAAM, inside Bazaar in the SLS hotel in Hollywood
e inside Jaleo in the Cosmo in Vegas
Bazaar Meat in the SLS hotel in Vegas

All three meals were fantastic and we were stuffed at the end. We ate at The French Laundry several months after SAAM and were unimpressed, partially because SAAM was fresh in our minds. The tasting menus, at least at the time that we did them, were very reasonably priced for what you got. In my opinion, his reputation is well-deserved.
