Was at marianos grocery which is a great grocer and puts everything in nola to shame. Groceries is one of a very few things chicago beats nola at. While shopping came across camel steaks in the freezer. They looked delicious and were only $10 per lb. almost got them but chickened out (or should I say cameled out lol).

Anyone ever try it
How's it taste
Best recipe?
They also had rattle snake

I had it once on a trip to Kenya, 9 years ago. It was tough and chewy. But I also had crocodile at the same restaurant and it was fishy. I've had it subsequently when it was very good, like gator. So it may just have been the restaurant. It was one of those churrascaria type places, like Fogo de Chao, African style

That's because the croc's ate fish. If you feed a croc chicken it will taste more like chicken. On one Caribbean trip, I met a man from Africa who said, if the croc didn't taste like chicken or fish, don't eat it...meaning, it had been feed humans.

What about zebras? Or water buffalo? I mean, seems to me, jumping to the conclusion that it had been fed humans is pretty premature.
