I had some food from there...on separate occasions my wife and a co-worker got lunch from there and gave me the leftovers. The food was pretty good, but we never think about going there. Make of that what you will.

great location though

I went there once. Once. I too am surprised it is still open. It must be a front for money laundering. No way it makes enough money to stay in business by food alone.

I've noticed recently on the sign that they are promoting the place as a hooka bar too...

It's owned by one of the Mediterranean restaurant's families, right?

I wish there was something worth a shite in this Industriplex area.

It was a nice moneymaker for Sammy, especially with the bylaw written in when the Industripex area was built, that no other restaurant could open in the there.
I'm pretty sure he had a family member (R.J.) that was involved in the development so that's probably the reason for that.

Yeah, I liked Sammy but I never liked the food at Samuels.
As for Sammy, I liked him alot too. He was a real cool guy and its sad to see how quickly the restaurant closed after his death, I'm pretty sure that some internal family issues contributed to that.
Its good to be related to the developer. Sammy's son got a better job working for his father in law.

It is owned by the son of the Po Boy Express owner.

It seems like that spot is cursed, I've seen a lot of Restaurants die there.
Los Gallos was the shite....and they were always packed.
I heard the landlord raised the rent as soon as they saw they were booming so they said frick you and left.

how many different restaurants have failed there??
Whatever the name of the Chinese buffet there before niche was ballin. Too bad I found out about it a week before they shut down. It's hard to trust a place with clams on a buffet though

Sure it was good, just not as good as Mamacita's.

Wife and I went last night...
Place is very small on the inside...much smaller than I would have thought...
Went about 5 PM. Only about 10 other people in there...place was dead.
Sat down...the waitress seemed competent. I ordered a Canebreak beer, which I love.
Ordered Spinach Con Queso for an app. Chips were seasoned and tasty. SCQ was good, but only lukewarm...
Wife ordered the hamburger steak...she had no complaints about it. She hated how they put powdered sugar on her sweet potato fries though...
I scanned the menu and saw that they have an eggplant parmesan po boy. That seems like an odd item to have on a menu from a restaurant that is struggling. I rolled the dice and went with it. It was VERY good. Eggplant seemed fresh. Breading was seasoned well. French bread was good, and the sandwich was hot and a good size.
I would give the place a solid B, especially for the price.
