So how was it? Hopefully you picked up some jerky and turkey head cheese while you were there. That's what they are known for.

If you're driving from nola to Texas, I-10 has plenty of good boudin options. On your way back from Nola, plan it to where you're hungry when you'll be hitting Lafayette. Get off at the Scott exit. Go to Billy's and get a couple boudin balls. Go to Best Stop and try some of their boudin and cracklins. Don's is also at that exit. All three are a couple minutes off I-10. None have blood boudin, but you will not be disappointed. I looked on boudin link, and it looks like there is a place in Breaux Bridge that has blood boudin, and has good reviews, Babineaux's. Breaux Bridge is also on I-10. I trust boudin link's reviews much more than I trust yelp.

Got my boudin. It is very delicious and flavorful. Haven't had a chance to smoke a link, which should make it even better.

Got a couple boudin balls at Billy's. They were good, but a little too piquant for my taste. I just can't enjoy really hot food.
